Mental Health & Addictions

The following is a list of in-person and phone resources. Please click on the logos for more information.

 

Here 24 7

Here 24/7 provides mental health and addiction services. Here 24/7 manages the waitlist for other services in Waterloo Region. It also provides crisis based services through Here 24/7.

Access to programs is located on the website shared above under the “Referral Forms” section.
 

RAAM

This clinic provides supports to individuals that are struggling with addictions issues. RAAM is open to people of all ages who are using any substance, and is covered by OHIP.

Access to RAAM clinics are on a walk in basis. Please call 1-844-722-2977 to get information on hours at your closest RAAM clinic. Or access their Digital front door service https://stonehengetc.accessraam.ca/

 

CMHA WW

Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington provides mental health and addiction services. They manage the waitlist for other mental health and addiction services in the Region. CMHA WW provides crisis based services through Here 24/7.

Access is located on the Here 24/7 website (https://here247.ca/ ) under the “Referral Forms” section.

 

GRH

Grand River hospital provides mental health and addiction supports for people of all ages. Withdrawal management provides non-medical management of withdrawal with 24 hours monitoring and care.

 

Services are physician referred only. Referral forms can be found through the “Health Professionals” section by selecting “Physician and medical learners” tab under the “Refer a patient” option.

 

Stonehenge

Stonehenge provides community and residential treatment to people who have substance use issues. They provide various programs in both residential and community based settings.

 

All services are voluntary and are self referrals. Please contact Here 24/7 at 1-844-437-3247 to complete an assessment and request addictions treatment.

 

Connex Ontario

Connex Ontario formerly DART provides information to people experiencing issues with substances, mental health and/or gambling.  Their services are online and over the phone.

 

Services can be accessed through self referrals when the call or go online.

 

OATC

Ontario addiction treatment centres (OATC) provides treatment for opioid agonist therapy. It offers support with other addictive substance. OATC offers therapy for hepatitis C and HIV care.

 

Access to their services requires no physician referral. Patient can simply call the Kitchener clinic number 519-746-1919 or walk in during clinic hours. See clinic hours under “clinic locations” on their website.

 

Ray of Hope

Ray of hope provides community and youth services. Youth programs include addiction, employment and justice. The addiction program offers community, day/ treatment and supports for families.

 

All programs are voluntary services and are self referrals. Patients can call Ray of Hope at 519-743-2311 ext. 516 to complete an intake.

 

Front Door

Front door is a single access point for children and youth mental health services in Waterloo region. It is a partnership between Carizon Family and Community Services and Lutherwood.

 

Access to service is done both through self and physician referred. For physician; the community partner referral form is under the “Professionals” section. For parents or youth they can either call 519-749-2932 or attend the walk in services on Wednesdays or Saturdays at 1770 King St. E Kitchener.

 

AA KW Alcoholics Anonymous Kitchener Waterloo

This organization supports people who struggle with substance use. Please see website for list of daily meeting throughout the region.

 

Patients can attend meetings no registration necessary.

 

Al-anon and Alateen

This organization supports family members who have loved ones who struggle with substance use.

 

Patients can attend meetings no registration necessary.

BounceBack

BounceBack Ontario is a free skill building program by CMHA Ontario that can be accessed in many different languages.

 

Access by self or physician referred. For patients, access it through the website by selecting their age category. For physicians they can refer through the “Care Providers” section.

 

Togetherall

This website provides free access self help programs, supportive listening and a place to be a part of a community.

 

Patients can access this service with no referral needed by going to their website.

 

Woebot

Woebot is an app that is a self-care expert in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness (mood).

 

7 cups of tea

7 Cups of Tea is a website that provides free access to supportive listeners and fee for service online counselling.

 

MoodTools

If you are feeling sad, anxious, or depressed, lift your mood with MoodTools! MoodTools is designed to help you combat depression and alleviate your negative moods, aiding you on your road to recovery.

 

STOPP

STOPP is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in a nutshell.

 

Learn this ONE KEY SKILL and you can start to take control of your emotions and your life.

 

Headspace

Headspace is meditation made simple. We'll teach you the life-changing skills of meditation and mindfulness in just a few minutes a day.

 

CBT-i

CBT-i Coach is for people who are engaged in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia with a health provider, or who have experienced symptoms of insomnia and would like to improve their sleep habits.

 

Saying when

Saying when: How to quit drinking or cut down (CAMH)

 

If you want to take charge of how much you drink, or when you drink, Saying When is a successful program that provides step-by-step directions that can help.

 

CCI

This organization provides resources for both clinicians and self help related strategies. Under the “Resources” tab there is a list of self help strategies divided up by categories.

Send an instant message to a registered nurse, and get answers to health-related questions or concerns.

healthcare connect

The program refers people without a regular family health care provider to physicians and nurse practitioners who are accepting new patients in their community.
